It doesn't hurt to touch the thorn of that deep scarlet rose
A small prick to my finger, bring a tear shaped drop

Riding down the interstate
Watching the cars race by
I picture myself standing on top of the world
Just watching it burn
Burn to impotent ash
You ignoring it until it gets too close for comfort
Then you run, don't try to put it out, just run
Don't look back, it might see you trying to run away
Why play with the flame

I can see how much you hurt
